Triton In The Hunt At HNAC

KNOX – So far, so good for the Triton Trojans at the first-ever Hoosier North Athletic Conference boys tennis tournament. Triton are just three points behind regular season champion Knox, 42-39, after four of the five courts picked up wins in day one of the tourney.

SYRACUSE – Plymouth scored 22 points to hold off Warsaw and Goshen for the JV boys tennis title at the NLC Reserve Saturday morning at Wawasee.

WINONA LAKE – Wawasee emerged as champions of the 2015 Warsaw Girls Golf Sectional Saturday at Stonehenge Golf Club. NorthWood and Plymouth also qualified for the regional, and individuals Madi Graham of Warsaw, Victoria Biddle of Tippecanoe Valley and Kinley Lingenfelter of Rochester qualified as well.

MERRILLVILLE – The boys tennis programs at Triton and Wawasee were in action Saturday at the Merrillville Tennis Invite. Wawasee placed fifth and Triton seventh in the seven-team stack.

WINONA LAKE – Meredith Hollar and Mallory Rondeau led the Grace College women’s soccer team to a huge win Saturday night.

Wawasee Shuffles Soccer Match

SYRACUSE – The Wawasee at East Noble boys soccer matches have been bumped back due to football being rescheduled from Friday night’s inclement weather.

WARSAW – Mother Nature won the game Friday night, forcing multiple games in the state to be postponed. Warsaw, Wawasee and Triton were all moved to Saturday restarts. Warsaw did get in its Homecoming court announcement, which had Mario Flores and Maria Duenas named as Homecoming King and Queen.

A slew of area high school football games were postponed Friday night due to the weather.
