USS Indianapolis (LCS 17) Sailors recently conducted a memorial wreath-laying ceremony at sea to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the loss of the USS Indianapolis, which was torpedoed near the end of World War II.

Three people were arrested in a raid by Kosciusko County SWAT Tuesday, July 28, at 9811 N. Majestic Way, Syracuse, on the south side of Lake Wawasee. The raid was the result of an extensive NET43 investigation based upon numerous reports of alleged narcotics activity at that location.

Four months into a worldwide pandemic, local officials are urging people to uses masks when out in public and are getting the word out with an online video by Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce.

A group of local citizens came up with the idea to honor the Dixie sternwheel paddle boat. A watercraft parade and pier decorating contest called the Dixie Salute was held on Webster Lake Saturday, July 25. Those wishing to be judged placed yellow ribbons on their displays.

One of my favorite paintings is Lydia assise dans le jardin created by Mary Cassatt in 1880. (photo provided). This painting greets me every time I turn on my computer as I have made it my background selection. Cassatt, an American, was born in 844 in Pennsylvania but spent most of her adult life in Paris.
