Area weather postponements for Monday, April 9.

AKRON — Senior Dakota Parker is back to lead Valley’s boys track team in 2018, after setting a school record in the 400-meter run at the state finals last spring. Not bad for an athlete who didn’t start running the open 400 until several weeks into the season.

AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley announced its sports awards for the winter sports season on Wednesday.

AKRON — Sophomore Tanner Trippiedi was singled out at Tippecanoe Valley as the lone Viking to make the lists as the Three Rivers Conference released its all-conference boys basketball rolls for the 2017-18 season.

AKRON — Nine Tippecanoe Valley athletes were named Academic All-Three Rivers Conference for the winter sports season, and another five made the TRC’s academic all-conference honorable mention list, it was announced Tuesday.

AKRON — The Vikings could do no wrong and the Trojans could do little right in a lopsided, 49-29 Senior Night win by host Tippecanoe Valley in Akron Friday night.

AKRON — The Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation’s Valley Hometown Fund is holding an alumni basketball game in March with the hopes of raising money to establish an endowment fund.

MISHAWAKA — Wawasee’s wrestling team had both hopes of winning a team regional title Saturday but had to settle for third place and nine semi-state berths at Penn.

GOSHEN — NorthWood and Tippecanoe Valley both advanced in their Fairfield Sectional openers Tuesday night, but for Valley, the victory came with a heavy cost.

PLYMOUTH — Wawasee wrestling dominated Saturday’s Plymouth Sectional with 10 total championship berths and four titles on the way to a dominant 285.5 points and the program’s first sectional title since 2010.

AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley’s boys basketball team lost its seventh straight in a 63-42 Three Rivers Conference loss to visiting Manchester Friday night.

AKRON — Girls basketball and swimming results from Thursday night.

AKRON — Host Tippecanoe Valley’s girls basketball team rallied back from a 20-14 halftime deficit and closed out its home slate with an eventual, 46-33 win over Wawasee Tuesday night.

BUNKER HILL — Valley wrestling put up 79 points for eighth place at the Three Rivers Conference Tournament.

PERU — Tippecanoe Valley’s girls basketball team bounced back from a disappointing loss at Rochester with a 76-29 rout of host Peru Tuesday night.

GOSHEN — Tippecanoe Valley’s wrestling team competed at the Goshen Invitational on Saturday and finished seventh out of eight teams.

AKRON — Winamac put up 17 points in a lopsided fourth quarter, and the Warriors handed host Tippecanoe Valley its fifth straight loss, 59-41, in Akron Saturday.

AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley’s wrestling team earned a 48-24 win over Caston Thursday night.

AKRON — Northfield freshman Addi Baker converted the second of two free throws with just 1.8 seconds on the clock to seal a 53-52 win over Class 3A No. 4 Valley, snapping a 32-game Three Rivers Conference win streak by the Lady Vikings in the process Thursday night.

ROCHESTER — NorthWood, Triton and Tippecanoe Valley got a good measuring stick at Friday’s John McKee Memorial Invitational, which pitted some of the area’s top wrestlers against one another in a 16-team tournament.

CULVER — Five Valley players scored in double figures on the way to a 72-56 victory on the road at Culver Community Tuesday.

AKRON — Class 3A, No. 3 Tippecanoe Valley’s girls basketball team put up season-high points production while dominating Whitko 87-25 for the Vikings’ ninth straight win Saturday.

LAKEVILLE — Triton’s wrestling team went 5-0 at the LaVille Super Duals Saturday, pushing the team out to a school record-tying 15 wins in the process Saturday.

WINAMAC — Tippecanoe Valley’s girls basketball team won its eight straight — and fifth straight on the road — with a 58-33 victory at Winamac Thursday night.

AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley’s boys basketball team struggled to score and got off to a slow start on the way to a 60-36 loss to visiting Peru Tuesday night.
