AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley jumped out to a 28-6 start at the first quarter break, and the ICGSA Class 3A No. 6-ranked Lady Vikings coasted to a 2-0 start to the season with a lopsided 81-26 victory over visiting Culver Girls Academy Tuesday night.

Junior Sophie Bussard put up 26 points to go along with team-highs of six rebounds, four steals and two assists, while senior Addy Miller scored 18 with another four steals in a strong one-two punch for the Vikings. Olivia Trippiedi and Emily Peterson finished with eight and seven points, respectively, for a Tippy Valley squad that converted a blistering 35 of 50 (70 percent) shots from the floor and saw nine different players in the scoring column in Tuesday’s win over the Eagles (2-1).

Culver Academy stats were not available following the game.

Valley will have a week layover before hosting Logansport next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
