NORTH WEBSTER — A concerned citizen approached North Webster Town Council about the appearance of some of the town’s dwellings at the council’s meeting Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the North Webster Community Center. The topic seems to be a theme among area towns as both Milford and Syracuse have had ongoing complaints about dwellings having too much trash and abandoned vehicles around them.

WARSAW — Three area school cafeterias will be expanding after a motion was approved by the Warsaw school board. WARSAW — The date that Main Street will be closed to traffic from Hickory Street to Colfax for final paving has been changed to Tuesday, Oct. 18. There will be no parking allowed during the paving. This will be the final step of the Main Street resurfacing project.

SILVER LAKE — At approximately 11:07 p.m., a full assist was called for house fire at 401 N. Jefferson St., Silver Lake. Individuals were in the house when the fire began, but were evacuated. No one was injured in the fire. The house suffered mostly from internal damages from the fire.  

NAPPANEE — At approximately 3:45, the Nappanee Fire Department, Wakurusa Fire Department, Etna Green Fire Department and the Bremen Fire Department responded to a barn fire on 8110 Hepton Road, Nappanee. No one was injured in the fire.

SYRACUSE — At approximately 12:25 p.m., the Milford Fire Department, Turkey Creek Fire Department and Lutheran EMS were dispatched to a bin fire at 3575 East CR 1300N, Syracuse.
