WARSAW — A select group of about 60 eighth-grade students from Edgewood Middle School and Lakeview Middle School recently participated in the OrthoWorx Innovative Careers Pathway Program. SYRACUSE — Hosted by Lakeland Youth Center, Syracuse Parks & Recreation and the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce, Holiday Magic is returning once again Saturday, Nov. 21. Featuring favorites like sleigh rides and visits with Santa and his reindeer, Holiday Magic offers fun for the whole family.
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — This past June was the wettest June ever recorded for the county’s lakes. On average, before and during June, water clarity in local lakes was the highest, while later in the summer, the clarity decreased substantially. Our center observed this trend in our research results from our local lake sampling as well. Here are the results from just a few of the lakes in our county:
SYRACUSE — Back by popular demand is Syracuse’s holiday pop up shop, the Mistletoe Market. Shoppers wanting to snag some unique presents for the people on their list can stop by Nov. 21 and 28 in addition to Dec. 5, 12 and 19.
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Dates, tentative ideas and planning, by a group of three individuals, has been underway to plan the county’s celebration for the state’s 200th birthday next year. KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Two area residents have been arrested in conjunction to drug related charges. Police allege on Oct. 22, Vanessa E. Arnold, 20, Warsaw, purchased pseudoephedrine from Walgreens at 8:15 a.m. After a related drug arrest, officers discovered Arnold and Stanley Cripps, 25, Bourbon, had been manufacturing methamphetamine in Arnod’s apartment, located at 202 Argonne …read more.
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Kosciusko County Community Foundation wishes to remind area nonprofit organizations that the next deadline to apply for grants from the Kosciusko REMC Operation Round Up Fund is Dec. 1. All community foundation grant applications are now online.
ELKHART COUNTY — A motorcycle versus buggy crash from Sept. 3, has claimed the life of one man, Tracy A. Newcomer, Nappanee. The accident occurred at 3:07 p.m. on CR 1350N, near CR 200W. Responders arrived locating the motorcycle driver, Newcomer, in the roadway.
WARSAW — In observance of Thanksgiving, the city of Warsaw offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27. Thursday’s trash route will be picked up Wednesday, Nov. 25.
