WARSAW — Matthew A. Lucas, 37, 2501 West Side Drive, Warsaw, has been arrested on a preliminary charge of dealing in a narcotic drug, more than one gram, a level 4 felony.

The affidavit of probable cause was filed in Kosciusko Circuit Court on Nov. 17. The document states on July 2 arrangements were made to purchase six prescription Xanax pills from Lucas for $30. During the drug deal, Lucas wanted to search the buyer, but the buyer refused to be searched.

Police were given a cellophane wrapper containing five peach colored pills, instead of the six pills. The drug weighed over 1 gram.

He is being held on $15,000 surety bond and $250 cash.
