UPDATE: Accident SR 25 and CR 550W

Rescue crews work to free the driver

UPDATE: Sabrina A. Gothan, 43, Mentone, was extricated from her vehicle and airlifted to Lutheran Hospital where she is reported in serious condition with multiple injuries. Scott E. Cochran, 33, Warsaw, was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital in fair/stable condition with shoulder pain.

The accident occurred at 7:25 a.m. to SR 25 and CR 550W, after receiving 911 calls of the accident. Officers arrived and located Gothan trapped in her 2001 Chevrolet.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies determined Cochran was southbound on CR 550W in his 2001 Chrysler and failed to yield at the intersection of SR 25. Cochran’s vehicle impacted Gothan’s vehicle, which was eastbound on SR 25.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Burket and Mentone Fire Departments, along with the Mentone and Lutheran EMS.


 

 

PALESTINE — Two persons are injured in a two-vehicle accident on SR 25 at CR 550W, in front of the Palestine Bible Church. Initial reports are one patient will be transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital, while the other patient will be flown by helicopter to a Fort Wayne Hospital.

The accident occurred at approximately 7:35 a.m.

Mentone EMS, Lutheran EMS Kosciusko, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Burket and Mentone Fire Departments responded.
