WARSAW — Marcus Deunte Brooks, 31, 2441 West CR 250S, Warsaw, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with strangulation, intimidation and domestic battery. He was held on $5,000 surety and $250 cash bond.

SYRACUSE — The Boomerang Backpacks program has stayed plenty productive since Kellie Newcomer took over as the new program coordinator in the early summer months. Wawasee High School students take part in the program each week by helping fill bags with food and get them ready to send home with low-income elementary students.

Cromwell Man Dies In Iowa

MUSCATINE, IOWA— According to news channels in Muscatine, Iowa, Ramon Duque, 58, of Cromwell, drowned in the Mississippi River in Iowa’s Muscatine County.

SYRACUSE — A Syracuse man is in critical, but stable condition following an electrical shock sustained Monday, Sept. 7. At 4:54 p.m., Syracuse Police and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call, finding Syracuse resident Jason Veenstra, 40, conscious but severely burned.
