PIERCETON — At 5:42 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, emergency personnel were called to respond to an accident located at North SR 13 and East CR 200N, Pierceton.

According to an accident report filed by Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Justin S. Smith, 29, of Pierceton, and Peggy A. Gerkin, 71, Leesburg, collided when Gerkin, who was traveling eastbound, reportedly failed to yield to Smith, who was traveling southbound on SR 13.

Gerkin complained of pain to her left side and hd a laceration on her left arm from the crash. North Webster EMS transported Gerkin to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. Damages are estimated up to $50,000.
