WARSAW – Midwest Xtreme will be hosting a parent information meeting for any family who has children with special needs who is interested in joining Team HailStorm.
The meeting will be at Midwest Xtreme at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13. The facility is located at 1155 Executive Dr. in Warsaw, just off US 30 West on the east side of CR 150 West.
Team HailStorm is for children with special needs, ages five on up. The team is a co-ed special needs All-Star Cheer team for students with an intellectual and/or physical disability who loves to cheer, dance and perform at all levels of functioning.
All-Star Cheer offers friendship, fun, music, dancing, cheering and the opportunity to perform in front of enthusiastic crowds, and increasing the students’ courage and confidence! The routine is tailored to the abilities of each individual child so that all children can participate to the full extent of their abilities.
All-Star Special Needs Cheer Team practice and competes a half-season. Half-season teams are intended to offer a shorter season, more relaxed environment, with a maximum routine length of 1 minute, 45 seconds.
Students will perform half-time for surrounding school systems during varsity basketball games in November, January and February, and compete at cheer competitions in Fort Wayne during February and March.
