Don’t Forget Family Safety Day Saturday

WARSAW — Family Safety Day, presented by the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, and sponsored by Kosciusko REMC and Lutheran Health Network KCH, is this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Warsaw’s Central Park and Center Lake Pavilion.
This year’s Family Safety Day will continue to offer free activities devoted to health and safety with a variety of hands-on learning activities, presentations and games.
The lineup of activities includes:
- Zip line rides from the Warsaw/Wayne Fire Territory
- Gummy worm surgery, make-n-take first aid kits, and a hand washing station from Lutheran Health Network KCH
- Bucket truck rides and a new hands-on line building activity from Kosciusko REMC
- “Prevention Costs a Little…Saves A Lot” from Protechs/1-800-Board Up will feature displays on smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers and electrical safety
- Free safe assured ID kits provided by the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist’s Club
- A tornado machine courtesy of the National Weather Service

Participate in a bicycle rodeo Free bike helmets and fitting from the Kiwanis Club of Warsaw
- Red Cross Bloodmobile Drive – help our community by donating blood
- Helicopter visits from Lutheran Health network’s “Air” and Parkview Hospital’s “Samaritan”
- Police K-9 demonstrations
- Huge emergency vehicles display, with fire trucks, ambulances, police cars, conservation boats, and more
- Mobile mammography’s offer by Francine’s Friends
- Water rescue demonstrations and boat rides from the Warsaw Dive Team
- Bicycle rodeo with the Warsaw Police Department
- Meet Daren the D.A.R.E. Lion, and Sparky the Fire Dog
- Save-A-Life fire safety trailer
- Register to win a variety of prizes at the information booth, including smoke detectors, car seats, bike helmets, fire extinguishers, and more

- Free face painting and free kids’ games
- Demonstrations by the Parkview Warsaw YMCA
- South Bend Memorial Hospital’s HealthWorks Hummer and Kohl’s Fit Festival games
- Heartline Pregnancy Mobile Unit
- Come help paint the snow plows and learn about snow plow safety from the Warsaw Street Department
- Meet police officers, fire fighters, state police officers, electric linemen, county sheriffs, conservation officers, EMTs and more in a fun and friendly environment
