Warsaw’s and Wawasee’s cross country teams are still alive as regionals convene in Culver and Goshen Saturday.

CULVER — Warsaw’s cross country teams ran their string of sectional titles to eight apiece in Culver, while Wawasee’s boys and girls both advanced out of the Elkhart Central Sectional Saturday.

CULVER — Warsaw’s Spencer Britton and Nolan Knight downed Triton’s Chase Butler and Carter Kuntz for the doubles sectional title at Culver Academies Saturday.

BOURBON — The Trojans took their chances on the way to a 14-point first quarter lead, then held on through three more wild quarters in a 14-12 HNAC win over Knox Friday.

BOURBON — Triton’s very young volleyball team hung tough with veteran Pioneer at times but fell in three sets at home Tuesday.

KNOX — Knox collected a 4-1 win over Triton, and the Redskins won a fourth straight HNAC title at the conference tournament finale Thursday.

KNOX — Triton advanced in live play at four positions and got another through via bye at the opening round of the Hoosier North Athletic Conference Tournament in Knox Wednesday.

Lady Trojans Are HNAC Champs

NORTH JUDSON — Delanie Groves went low, and Triton’s girls golf team won the Hoosier North Athletic Conference Championships with a 427 at Chesapeake Run Saturday.

ELKHART — Triton tennis scuffled to an 0-3 finish, while Manchester finished 1-2 at the Jimtown Tournament Saturday.

BREMEN — Class 2A, No. 8 unbeaten Bremen was too much for Triton in a 49-7 decision Friday.

Warsaw is hoping to bounce back after last week’s tough, OT loss, NorthWood, Triton and Valley hope to continue rolling, and Wawasee is still searching for its first win in Week 4 of the high school football season.

AKRON — Triton shuffled its lineup Tuesday, and the Trojans downed the short-handed Vikings 5-0.

ELKHART — Triton’s boys tennis team started slow in a meet with Bethany Christian Saturday, picking it up late but ultimately falling 4-1.

WINONA LAKE — Both host Warsaw and Triton showed growth in a rematch at Stonehenge Thursday.

WARSAW — Warsaw’s 383 was more than good enough to top the standings at Thursday’s 18-hole three-way meet at Stonehenge, while Triton finished with a 491 behind Chesterton’s 427 score.

BOURBON — Triton’s softball team bowed out of the state series with a disappointing, 10-0 loss to LaCrosse in Sectinoal 51 action Wednesday night.

BOURBON — Triton rallied from a 3-0 deficit with a big five-run fifth on the way to a 7-3 win over Argos in the Lady Trojans sectional-opener Tuesday.

CULVER — Triton’s boys golf team shaved six strokes off the previous week’s score at Saturday’s HNAC Tournament, but it wasn’t enough to catch Winamac, which topped the defending-champion Trojans, 325-334.

NORTH JUDSON — A pair of dingers by Nicole Sechrist and Taytum Hargrave wasn’t enough as host Judson rallied to a 10-6 win in an HNAC Tournament-opener Friday.

PLYMOUTH — Dakota Parker repeated as sectional champ in the 400 meters, and fellow Tippy Valley senior Jameson Baker collected the discus championship on his way to regional berths in both throwing events as the host Pilgrims completed a team championship sweep at the Plymouth Boys Track and Field Sectional Thursday.

BREMEN — Three-peat champion Plymouth rolled through the first round at the Bremen Tennis Sectional, beating Triton in straight sets on all but the 1 doubles court in an eventual sweep at Wednesday’s opener.

BOURBON — Dylan Hensley pitched a one-hit shutout, and Triton closed its Hoosier North Athletic Conference season in style with a 7-0 reprisal over visiting Knox Tuesday.

ROCHESTER — Champion Plymouth didn’t leave a whole lot of room in the top three for athletes from other schools, but Tippecanoe Valley and Triton managed three regional berths apiece at Tuesday’s Rochester Track and Field Sectional.

KNOX — Triton baseball fell on the road at Knox Monday, 11-7.

BOURBON — Triton senior student-athletes were finally recognized on their home floor, and the community was invited to check out the new Trojan Trench at THS Saturday.

CULVER — Warsaw’s boys golf team made the unique format of the CMA Invitational work for them and carded four scores in the 70s — led by Luke Delp’s low-medalist round — for the team championship at Mystic Hills Saturday.

KNOX — Triton’s tennis team backed up a Hoosier North Athletic Conference championship three-peat with titles in three of five positions at Thursday’s HNAC Tournament-capper in Knox, securing titles at the 1 singles and at both doubles positions.

KNOX — Triton’s girls track team earned a trio of championships as the HNAC Championships wrapped with the second round in Knox Thursday night.

NORTH JUDSON — Pioneer topped the standings on both the boys and girls sides, while the Lady Trojans finished third, and the Trojans rounded out the team standings at the field portion of the HNAC Championships at North Judson-San Pierre Tuesday.

FULTON — Triton’s baseball team recorded only two hits as the Trojans were dimed, 12-2 in a Hoosier North Athletic Conference game at Caston Monday night.
