WARSAW – Bowling alleys in Kosciusko County are anticipating next week’s phase to open its doors to the public again.

WARSAW — Bowling for Baker is a bowling event to raise money for the Baker Youth Club. The family bowlathon will take place from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, at The Bowling Alley, 1535 N. MERRILLVILLE – Cory Hersha of Whitko won a semistate bowling title Saturday.

ELKHART – Amleto Monacelli claimed the title of the PBA50 Tour National Championship Wednesday night at Signature Lanes.

SYRACUSE – The Lakeland Youth Center in Syracuse will be sponsoring a Family Fun Night Monday, Jan. 18.

SYRACUSE – Thursday night was magical for one set of lanes at Wawasee Bowl. The pair saw both a 300 game by Drew Wright, and a “Break the Bank” by Ryan Coquillard.

Cory Hersha is headed to the State Finals. Hersha, a member of the Whitko bowling team, earned a spot at State last weekend. He qualified with his performance at the semi state in South Bend. The State Finals are set for Saturday in Anderson.

Smeltzer Rolls The Big 3-0-0

SYRACUSE – In 27 years of bowling, Syracuse resident Curtis Smeltzer had never rolled a 300. Check one thing off the bucket list as Smeltzer hit the magic number Wednesday night during league bowling at Wawasee Bowl.

Kosciusko County Special Olympics needs bowlers for the annual Bowl-a-Thon fundraiser. Anyone can participate as a bowler, you just need to sign up, get a pledge form and collect a minimum of $35 in sponsor pledges. The deadline to sign up is June 18.
