ELKHART – Eddie Graham is finding competing in the Hoosier State to his liking of late.

Graham, who hails from Centerville Ohio, is making his mark on the PBA50 Tour for the second straight week in Indiana.

Graham paces the field for the PBA50 National Championship after completing his second day of qualifying rounds Tuesday at Signature Lanes. Graham, who also led after the first day of qualifying Monday, won his first PBA50 Tour event last week in Fort Wayne.

Graham holds the lead after posting a total pinfall of 3,745 through 16 games of qualifying, good for a 234.06 per game average heading into the final day of competition Wednesday.

Some very familiar names to bowling fans are right in the thick of things for the chase for the title in the final PBA50 Tour event of the season.

Norm Duke, who ranks third all-time with 38 PBA Tour titles, is right behind Graham. Duke, a PBA Hall of Famer, is at 3,743 pins for an average of 233.94.

Amleto Monacelli of Venezuela, the only foreign-born player in the PBA Hall of Fame, is third after qualifying at 3,663.

Walter Ray Williams Jr., who has a combined 99 titles on the PBA and PBA50 tours, is currently in fifth place at 3,565.

Parker Bohn II finished in 12th place after the two qualifying rounds at 3,505.

The top eight from the qualifying round are Graham, Duke, Monacelli, Bob Learn Jr. (3,628), Williams Jr., Bryan Goebel (3,563), Lennie Borsch Jr. (3,558) and Brian Voss (3,557).

Action continues Wednesday with the final day of the tournament. The Cashers Round begins at 8:30 a.m. with the bowlers in positions below 24th place bowling five games. At noon, Modified Match Play Round One will be staged with the top eight from the Cashers Round and qualifiers 9-16 bowling five games.

The top eight qualifiers, along with the top eight bowlers from Modified Match Play Round One, will compete in Modified Match Play Round Two at 3 p.m. Each bowler will roll six games.

The top five bowlers from the Round Two of Match Play will meet in a single-game elimination style format in the finals starting at 7 p.m.

Admission to the final day of the tournament Wednesday is $50.

The proceeds from the tournament are going to benefit Riley Hospital for Children.
