MERRILLVILLE – It was a championship day on the lanes Saturday for Cory Hersha.

The Whitko High School student rolled his way to a semistate championship in prep bowling action. Hersha topped the field of 36 keglers to claim his title.

Hersha, who is coached by Lee Nichols, advances to the State Finals next Saturday in Fort Wayne.
