SOUTH WHITLEY – Visiting West Noble handed Whitko a 4-2 defeat in girls’ soccer action Saturday. Mady Overmeyer tallied both goals for the host Wildcats. Whitko goalie Emily Jones had 12 saves in the contest. Whitko (0-2) plays at Rochester on Wednesday.  

FORT WAYNE – The Warsaw boys and girls soccer teams had their games scheduled for Saturday cancelled. Both Tiger teams were scheduled to take part in the Shindigz National Soccer Festival at the Fort Wayne Sports Club. The Leesburg soccer team recently captured the elementary championship with a win over Eisenhower. The two teams played an outstanding championship match. The contest was tied at 2-2 after regulation play. It was still deadlocked after overtime and a shootout. Leesburg finally claimed the title in sudden death play.
