AKRON – Valpo knocked out Tippecanoe Valley from the Unified Flag Football state tournament with a 16-12 win Saturday morning at the Valley regional.
ELKHART – Wawasee and NorthWood had its boys teams as well as a few individuals each qualify for the cross country regional after the Elkhart Central Cross Country Sectional Saturday morning.

WARSAW — It wasn’t a perfect start, but the No. 19 Lady Tigers were more than good enough in a 7-1 win over Fort Wayne Wayne at the Warsaw Sectional-opener Tuesday.
NorthWood topped DeKalb 4-1 to advance at the Concord Regional, while Warsaw closed with a 5-0 loss to Peru at the Culver Academies Regional Tuesday.

CARMEL — The Lady Panthers cut six strokes off their first-day total, their 338 setting a new state meet program-low in the process, and both the Lady Panthers and top flighter Cybil Stillson finished in sixth place at the two-day state finals at Prairie View Golf Club.

CARMEL — NorthWood posted its best-ever score at Prairie View Golf Club, the Lady Panthers closed the opening round of the IHSAA Girls Golf State Finals in seventh place, and Cybil Stillson finished the day tied for sixth on the individual leaderboard in Carmel.
WINONA LAKE — Matthew Helton connected with Parker Stewart to break a stalemate in the 77th minute, and Lakeland Christian Academy beat visiting Trinity School at Greenlawn 1-0 Friday night.
NORTH MANCHESTER – Jamie Salazar is among five to be honored into the Manchester University Athletic Hall of Fame on Oct. 12.
SOUTH BEND – Mia Beckham returned to northern Indiana to run with Butler at the Joe Paine Cross Country Invite at Notre Dame.
