NORTHRIDGE BOYS 3, WARSAW 1

The Raiders scored two goals in the second half to claim a win to split the Northern Lakes Conference title with the Tigers. Carter Stoltzfus had a pair of goals to put the Raiders over and finish 5-0-2 in NLC play. Drew Collins had the other Ridge goal. Cam Chappell, Brody Gust and Tanner Sallee all had assists and Cameron Graber made seven saves in net for the Raiders. Warsaw scored its goal in the second half on a penalty conversion. The Tigers finish NLC play 6-1 overall, tied with the Raiders with 12 points in the standings.

PLYMOUTH BOYS 2, WAWASEE 1

Wawasee closed out its regular season with a NLC loss to the Rockies at Warrior Field. Wawasee ends the grid 0-7 despite a goal from Alec Wortinger, assisted by Chris Pena.

“Heartfelt last home game for the Warriors,” stated Wawasee head coach Jordan Sharp. “Guys showed improvement all season long. Very proud of our fight and effort tonight.”

NORTHWOOD BOYS 2, BETHANY CHRISTIAN 2

In a matchup of top 10 programs, not much was resolved in the draw at Waterford Mills. Sebastian Guillen had NorthWood’s offensive goal, and the Class 1-A No. 4 Bruins were responsible for the second goal. NorthWood, ranked No. 10 in Class 2-A, caps its most successful regular season in a generation at 13-2-1.

LAVILLE BOYS 4, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 1

After taking a one-goal lead into the half, Valley fell apart in the last 40 to fall short at LaVille. Christian Ramirez buried a goal to give the Vikes the early lead, but the visitors couldn’t get anything else to go, and watched the Lancers pile it on in the second half. Valley finishes the regular season 6-9-1 ahead of sectional play at Culver Academy next week.

LAKELAND CHRISTIAN GIRLS 3, BREMEN 3

After falling behind 2-0, LCA rallied to tie the match late in the first half, then hit the equalizer in the second half to salvage a point at Bremen. Jessi Calizo and Tori Calizo scored in the first half, and a Tori Calizo goal drilled a 30-yarder to pull level with the Lions in the second half. Finley Hobbs made seven stops to keep LCA alive.

“I was very pleased with a draw tonight,” said LCA head coach Nat Raber, whose team finishes 9-4-1 in the regular season. “Our number one goal was no injuries again before sectionals and while a couple of players took some hits, we did accomplish that. I loved the way the girls battled back all night. Going down 2-0 on an own goal could be a back breaker but the girls responded well. No finger pointing or discouragement came from the team. They genuinely looked like they were having fun out there and that was great to see.”

NORTHWOOD GIRLS 6, WAWASEE 0

NorthWood pitched a shutout to close out the Northern Lakes Conference regular season. The Panthers held Wawasee without a shot on target in the contest, while peppering Wawasee’s net with 28 shots and 17 on target. Both Emma Martz and Caroline Jenkins each had two goals, Jenkins adding an assist. Emma Graverson had a goal and an assist and Ari Topping had a goal and two assists in the win. Wawasee, which has lost its last seven games without scoring a goal, is 1-15 for the season while NorthWood improves to 7-5-3. Both teams will compete next week at the Lakeland Sectional.
