MARSHALL COUNTY — A 26-year-old Nappanee man has been arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a sawed-off shotgun. He has been booked in the Marshall County Jail.
WARSAW — The next meeting of the Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety has been moved. Originally scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, the meeting has been moved to 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, in the Warsaw Common Council room in the city hall.
WARSAW — A plea agreement was entered this morning, Thursday, Nov. 5, by Elizabeth K. Stump, 33, 920 Anchorage Road, Warsaw, in four cases. She plead guilty to domestic battery in the presence of a child under the age of 16, a class D felony and theft, enhanced to a level 6 felony. The hearing was held in Kosciusko Superior Court 1.

CHICAGO — Indiana Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann and Glenda Ritz, superintendent of public instruction, testified today before the Higher Learning Commission, a regional accreditation organization. Their testimony expressed concerns about proposed guidelines for teachers of dual credit classes in Indiana’s high schools. These concerns were also expressed in the attached letter to HLC co-signed by the Lt. Governor, the superintendent, Teresa Lubbers, commissioner of higher education and Sarah O’Brien, vice-chair of the state board of education. MILFORD — As McBride was chipping layers of plaster from the south interior wall of the building, she started seeing letters painted on the original layer of bricks that composed the bulwark. She excitedly continued chipping away at the plaster until more of the lettering could be deciphered. Eventually, the entirety of the painted sign revealed itself to read “Milford Mail Fine Job Printing.”

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Registered voters in the town limits of Claypool, Mentone, Pierceton and Silver Lake, and voters within the corporate limits of the city of Warsaw, will go to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 3. The polls will open at 6 a.m. and close at 6 p.m.

WARSAW — Warsaw Fire Department, Winona Lake Fire Department, Warsaw Police Department and Lutheran EMS were called around 5:45 a.m. this morning, Sunday, Nov. 1, to the scene of a fire at Shamrock Mobile Home Community, near Lake City Highway, Warsaw.
Milford School is in the midst of an epidemic, a zombie epidemic. However, it’s all in good fun with the Wawasee Outdoor Club offering the free event — Zombie Zone — for middle school age students. The event, which is currently underway at the school, runs from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.

WARSAW — Court proceedings scheduled for juveniles and adult cases in Kosciusko Juvenile Court and Kosciusko Superior Court 1 have taken place in a spare courtroom since Oct. 19 when remodeling construction began.
