WARSAW — Matthew Aaron Owens, 26, 3525 E. Eastridge Drive, Warsaw, has been arrested on charges of stalking, a level 5 felony; intimidation, a level 6 felony; invasion of privacy and criminal mischief, both class A misdemeanors.
Details are sketchy, but Circuit Court Judge Michael Reed granted the plaintiffs a preliminary injunction against Oakwood Friday, Aug. 14. However, the injunction does not go into affect until the plaintiffs pay a $25,000 bond. At press time, the county clerk had no record of the bond being paid.

Street repaving in some areas of the town of North Webster will begin this fall. At the Tuesday, Aug. 18, North Webster Town Council meeting, Phend & Brown, Milford, was the low bidder at $17.20 a square yard over two competitors, Niblock and Ranger Materials.
Syracuse Town Council approved a bid for $140,627.30 from Phend and Brown for street paving during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday night, Aug. 18. Phend and Brown also won a paving contract with the Turkey Creek Fire Territory for $66,778.20. Both contracts were bid together and each agency will be invoiced separately.
WARSAW — Atwood Fire responded to a call about a semi truck on US 30 east of CR 500W, in the eastbound lane. The truck was reportedly on fire, but it turned out to be a brake fire that was quickly extinguished with a fire extinguisher. There were no injuries reported.

According to a NWS weather alert, doppler radar showed thunderstorms with heavy rainfall over the Syracuse and Lake Wawasee area, with an estimated 2 to 3 inches of rain since about 3:45 p.m.
NOBLE COUNTY — Alfred M. Crook, 75, Cromwell, died in a two-vehicle accident at 10:37 a.m. today, Monday, Aug. 17. The accident was at US 33 and SR 5 in Noble County.
NORTH WEBSTER — Two students on a Wawasee Community School Corporation bus suffered minor injuries Wednesday morning, Aug. 12, after the bus they were riding was struck by another motorist. The accident was at 7:58 p.m. at North CR 500E and East CR 650N, North Webster.
WARSAW — Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller’s office has filed a lawsuit against a maintenance product company and a former school maintenance director demanding repayment of nearly $1 million for their illegal bribery and kickbacks scheme that defrauded the Warsaw Community Schools, an audit found.
INDIANAPOLIS — Former Arc of Indiana Executive Director John Dickerson says he will run for the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate. The move marks the first run for public office for Dickerson, who led the organization serving people with disabilities for more than 30 years.
