WINAMAC — Tippecanoe Watershed Foundation was awarded a grant by the Arrow Head Country Resource Conservation and Development Area during its meeting Tuesday, March 21, in Winamac. TWF staff attended the meeting in which more than $55,000 in grants were awarded to 15 groups from seven counties in the RC&D area.

Adorable siblings, striking sunsets and everything in between were featured in The Watershed Foundation’s annual “Picture Your Watershed” photo contest. The diverse lands, lakes and perspectives found throughout the Upper Tippecanoe River Watershed were highlighted through 101 unique pictures during the largest contest to date.

NORTH WEBSTER — A small group boarded a Wawasee Community School Corp., mini bus for an 18-mile tour of a small portion of the 75,000 acres of farmland making up the headwaters of the Tippecanoe River Watershed. The trip was hosted by The Watershed Foundation for the purpose to show some of the practices in place on farmland in the southern edge of the watershed.

NORTH WEBSTER — Recently, The Watershed Foundation assisted in writing the grants that were awarded $45,000 to both the Whitley and Kosciusko county Soil and Water Conservation Districts from the Indiana Division of Fish & Wildlife through the Lake and River Enhancement program for land treatment projects.

NORTH WEBSTER — For 18 years it has been The Tippecanoe Watershed Foundation. The Tippecanoe part of the name as often been mistaken as representing only Lake Tippecanoe. Following a lengthy discussion, surveys and focus groups, TWF has renamed itself to “The Watershed Foundation.”
