The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the disappearance of Monte Wilson, a 76-year-old white man

WARSAW – Monday marked Opening Day for several ball sports parks around the area, including three diamond sports in the county.

I have learned from reliable sources that although the North Webster Community Public Library staff is currently in the process of moving library books and office equipment into the new library building, they will be unable to provide services from there for at least a month, if not more.

Sunny skies will dominate the weekday forecast for northern Indiana and it will grow exceedingly warm toward the end of the week.

Monday, June 22nd is the date when the Syracuse Library is increasing hours and letting adults and children in for more services, including, picking books from the shelves to check out.

A building formerly used by Alan Tehan on Sycamore Street in Syracuse is getting a fresh coat of paint, new carpeting, computer wiring, furniture, landscaping and a new parking area. By roughly mid to late August it will be transformed into the new home of the central office of the Wawasee Community School Corporation.

WARSAW – The fourth annual Chapman Lakes Garage Sale will be Friday and Saturday, June 12 and 13. The suggested hours will be Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m to noon. Participants may establish their own hours. The sales will be on residential properties around the lake.

WEST LAFAYETTE – Center Grove Legacy won the 2020 Boys Team Championship golf tournament while Cybil Stillson moved up the leaderboard at the State Amateur Championship.

Kosciusko County Council approved a request to provide $100,000 to the small business relief fund set up by the county’s economic development office known as KEDCo.

Topics at the Warsaw Community Schools Board of School Trustees meeting revolved around the COVID-19 pandemic as those present talked about cleaning buildings, keeping students safe and rewarding employees who have put themselves on the front lines.

Tippecanoe Township Advisory Board approved further discussed properties where a second fire station could be built and the purchase of fire equipment at its Wednesday, June 10, meeting.

Between noon Wednesday, June 10, and noon Thursday, June 11, the Kosciusko County Health Department reported 10 new cases of COVID-19. This brings the county’s number of positive cases to 283, with two deaths.

A LaPaz man was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound early Saturday, June 6, at Meadows Mobile Home Park, Nappanee.

Wawasee High School senior Evan Coblentz is one of 19 FFA members from across the state who are preparing to interview for the opportunity to serve as an Indiana FFA State Officer in the coming year.
