Upcoming Opportunities To Support Healthy Lakes

NORTH WEBSTER — The Watershed Foundation will be hosting several upcoming events to support healthy lakes.
Have lunch or dinner at the lake with Nelson’s famous barbecue chicken Saturday, June 13. The barbecue chicken will be sold at Tippy Dance Hall Marina from noon to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The cost is $7 per half chicken and is cash only. All proceeds support the work of TWF.
Learn how to protect the shoreline and the lake at a Healthy Shoreline workshop from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at the Winona Lake Senior Center, 1590 Park Ave. The open event will showcase shoreline projects that improve water quality and shoreline habitat, while reducing erosion. There will also be a discussion on grant assistance, a partnership between the Winona Lake Preservation Association and TWF, of up to $1,000 to homeowners on Winona Lake.
A pollinator workshop, in partnership with TWF, Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation, Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams and Kosciusko County Soil & Water District, will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, June 22, at the WACF Center – Ruddell Pavilion, SR 13, Syracuse. This event is limited to 30 registered guests. There is only eight spots still available. Couples in a household may register together. Join TWF for the most anticipated event of the summer – “Dance Through the Decades,” at Tippy Dance Hall, from 7-11 p.m. Saturday, July 25. Smile, relax and enjoy a safe and fun evening with neighbors and friends. The event is open to those over the age of 21.
Music will be provided by Key West’s Reggie Sullivan Band. Attendees are encouraged to come as “you were in the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. There will be a traditional shrimp boil (with vegetable option) with Waitstaff for food & drink table service.
The cost is $75 per ticket or a VIP Table for eight at $750. The VIP table includes eight free drinks and table location requests can be made. The event will follow CDC guidelines and social distancing measures include limited ticket sales, outdoor dancing, assigned seating and limited lies to avoid crowding.
