CRAWFORDSVILLE — Warsaw wrestling alum Kyle Hatch earned Wabash College one of three regional titles Saturday, punching his ticket to the NCAA Division III National Tournament in the process.

Lakeview Grapplers Compete

WARSAW – The Lakeview Middle School wrestling team competed Tuesday night.

CULVER — After a tough regular season, the Trojans looked like a different team in their Culver Sectional-opener with deep scoring contributions, general hustle and hot shooting in a 55-39 win over South Central (Union Mills) Tuesday.

ELKHART – Will Line was sensational to lead his Goshen team past Warsaw in the opening game of the Elkhart Sectional Tuesday night.

NAPPANEE – Lakeland and NorthWood earned wins in the first night of the NorthWood Boys Basketball Sectional.

MARION – Kyle Mangas was stellar yet again in leading his Indiana Wesleyan basketball team to the Crossroads League Tourney title Tuesday night.

A host of swimmers from the Warsaw Aquatic Club and Tippecanoe Valley Aquatics Club are heading to the Indiana Swimming North East Divisional Championships.

MISHAWAKA – The NorthWood Middle School girls basketball team split a pair of games versus Discovery Tuesday evening.

WARSAW – The Lakeview Middle School girls basketball teams were 1-1 versus Rochester Tuesday night.

WINONA LAKE – Grace College men’s soccer assistant coach Collin Cone has accepted the head men’s soccer coaching position at LeTourneau University.

IWU Women Fall To Taylor

MARION – The Indiana Wesleyan women’s basketball team lost to Taylor in a semifinal game of the Crossroads League Tourney.

LAKEVILLE- The Lakeview Middle School wrestling team had a strong effort in a tournament at LaVille Saturday.

INDIANAPOLIS – Warsaw’s Grant Knight was a consolation winner and Wawasee’s Brady Robinson wrapped up his prolific career Saturday at the IHSAA Boys Swimming State Finals.

WARSAW – Hal Gunter has been instrumental in the big-time success of the Warsaw boys basketball program for almost four decades.

SYRACUSE – Wawasee used an all-around team effort to beat Tippecanoe Valley, 51-41, Friday night in the boys basketball regular season finale.

FORT WAYNE – The Warsaw boys basketball team lost its regular-season finale at No. 13 Carroll 46-32 Friday night.

NAPPANEE – NorthWood will host a Community Pep Rally Feb. 26 to honor several groups, including the senior members of its boys basketball team.

WINONA LAKE – The Grace College golf programs now have an indoor facility to help players work on their game.

BUNKER HILL – The Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team lost at Maconaquah 40-33 Thursday night.

BOURBON – Tonight’s Triton-Knox boys basketball game has been canceled.

MILFORD – The season came to an end Thursday for the Milford sixth grade girls hoops teams.

BREMEN — It definitely wasn’t the result Triton was hoping for, but for a team struggling to find confidence during a rough, late season stretch, a 43-41 loss at Bremen Thursday looked like a step in the right direction.

SOUTH BEND – Josh McDaniel scored 32 points and LCA captured the outright Hoosier Plains Conference title with a 56-49 win at South Bend Career Academy Thursday night.

ELKHART – The NorthWood Middle School girls basketball teams split versus Concord Thursday night.

Edgewood Cagers Top Triton

WARSAW – The Edgewood Middle School 7th grade girls basketball team defeated Triton Thursday night.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Grace’s women’s basketball team was rewarded from its late-season surge by receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.

Flooding Halts Tuesday Games

February 20, 2018

Sporting events for Tuesday, Feb. 20, have been postponed or canceled because of flooding.

BOURBON — Coming off a banner senior year, Triton High School football standout Max Slusser signed his letter of intent to play football for a Trine team coming off its own record-setting season.

WINONA LAKE – The first Crossroads League Player of the Week awards of the season were swept by Grace’s softball team.

WARSAW – Prospective Warsaw football players are invited to attend a Meet Coach Bart Curtis night on Feb. 22.

INDIANAPOLIS – Five relays and two individuals got calls from the Concord Sectional to join the field at the IHSAA Boys Swim State Finals.

WESTFIELD – Grace’s Baseball team spent the weekend on the turf facilities at Grand Park. The Lancers played games against Concordia and Goshen.

The pairings for boys basketball sectionals were drawn by the IHSAA Sunday evening.

WARSAW – The Warsaw boys basketball team dropped its home finale to No. 13 Carmel 53-44 Saturday night.

WARSAW – The host Warsaw Tigers won its 11th team sectional title in a row, and had Grant Knight part of four wins in a big day at the Warsaw Boys Swim Sectional.

DUNLAP – Concord ended Northridge’s 15-year title reign while a trio of Wawasee competitors move on in the IHSAA swim tournament.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Seven men from Grace’s team earned NCCAA All-American status over the weekend at the NCCAA National Indoor Championships.

MARION – Kyle Mangas led Indiana Wesleyan past Spring Arbor to claim the Crossroads League regular-season championship Saturday.

KENDALLVILLE – Hayden Jones scored 20 points to lead a 19-1 East Noble squad to a 64-51 boys basketball win Saturday night over Wawasee.

WINONA LAKE – A wrap of Grace’s final home games of the basketball season Saturday against Taylor.

The Fairfield and Penn girls basketball teams saw their seasons end with semistate losses on Saturday.

WALKERTON – Triton mounted a big rally, but came up short in a 55-47 boys basketball loss at John Glenn Saturday afternoon.

NAPPANEE – The NorthWood boys basketball team won its seventh straight game by topping Oregon-Davis Saturday afternoon.

Indiana Wesleyan national champion David Slabaugh along with Bethel champions Staci Weisser and Ryne Lightfoot were all tabbed by their schools to join the respective Halls of Fame.

AKRON — The Vikings could do no wrong and the Trojans could do little right in a lopsided, 49-29 Senior Night win by host Tippecanoe Valley in Akron Friday night.

WINONA LAKE – LCA pulled off another impressive win, beating Oregon-Davis 51-50 Friday night in boys basketball.

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Grace College’s softball team started the 2018 season with a dynamic offense display at Bethel (Tenn.).

INDIANAPOLIS – Wawasee’s Geremia Brooks and Elisha Tipping as well as NorthWood’s Jake Lone are all alive in the IHSAA Wrestling State Finals.

WARSAW – The Warsaw boys swim team set itself up for a team title with a busy preliminary round Friday night at the Warsaw Boys Swim Sectional.
