SYRACUSE — New Paris Fire Department, Jackson Township EMS and the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at approximately 2:11 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at the intersection of US 6 and CR 29, just north of Syracuse.

U.S. 6 Width Restriction Lifted

The Indiana Department of Transportation announced today that the bridge construction project on U.S. 6 over Wagner Ditch, between CR 56 and CR 15, approximately 2 miles east of Nappanee, is mostly complete. A North Webster man seriously hurt in a Monday accident in Noble County has died. According to Jackie Bryan of the Noble County Sheriff’s Department, Roy Messer, 61, passed away from internal injuries he sustained in yesterday morning’s crash.
