WARSAW — A Warsaw man has been arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot several juveniles.

Richard Allan Hough, 43, 920 Anchorage Road 3, Warsaw, is charged with intimidation, a level 6 felony. A Warsaw woman was also arrested in this case on April 12. Ashley Marie Hough, 38, with the same address, is charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; and intimidation, a level 6 felony.

On April 12, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a report of an incident involving a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a woman who said she was threatened by Richard Hough and Ashley Hough because a football accidentally hit one of the vehicles parked near their residence. The woman said she knocked on the residence’s door and attempted to speak with the two about the incident, but that they would not come to the door.

According to court documents, the woman started walking away and said she was calling law enforcement, which resulted in Ashley Hough exiting the residence with a baseball bat and threatening to beat her with it.

The woman recorded the incident on her cellphone and showed it to the officer. In the video, Ashley Hough and the woman had a verbal altercation. During the incident, Ashley Hough raised a baseball bat and swung it to the ground beside her. Richard Hough then grabbed the bat from Ashley Hough and walked off.

The officer then spoke with six juveniles at the scene, who all said they were playing with a football in the area when a vehicle was accidentally struck with the ball. The man and woman then came outside and told them to leave. Richard Hough then allegedly said if they did not leave, he was going to shoot them with a gun. One juvenile said he stayed with the woman while Ashley yelled, cursed and threatened to beat the woman up with a bat.

Richard Hough denied making any statements involving a gun or shooting anyone. When asked why all the statements were the same, he mentioned that he said something about an impact gun. He denied saying the statement while running off the children, but said he said it while Ashley Hough and the woman were in a verbal altercation.

He was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on June 1, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.

She has a pretrial conference in this matter on June 15.
