NORTH WEBSTER — A Warsaw man was flown to a Fort Wayne hospital after his motorcycle struck a deer.

At 6:05 a.m. Sunday, June 7, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a motorcycle accident on East Backwater Road, east of EMS W18 Lane, North Webster.

Mark J. Hamman, 44, South Waxwing Lane, Warsaw, was taken to Lutheran Hospital via a Lutheran medical helicopter for internal head injuries after his motorcycle struck a deer that crossed in front of him.

A witness said he was following behind Hamman’s motorcycle when he saw a deer enter the roadway. Hamman was then ejected from his motorcycle.

Damages are estimated at up to $100,000.
