WARSAW — A Columbia City man was arrested for allegedly stealing a moped.

Shawn Richard Daniels, 37, Warsaw, is charged with theft, a level 6 felony. 

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Oct. 21, 2019, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a report of theft of a moped at the Serenity House.

The officer spoke with a man at Serenity House who said that his moped was stolen from outside the Serenity House. 

The officer then spoke with a Serenity House staff member, who said they had a video of the theft.

Upon watching the video, Daniels was identified as the person who stole the moped. 

Daniels was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail April 30 on a $20,250 surety and cash bond.
