SYRACUSE — Wawasee’s girls basketball team went 1-1 at its shootout Saturday, losing to eventual champion Norwell 79-49 in the morning game and bouncing back in the late game with a 45-27 victory over Brebeuf Jesuit.

Four players scored in double digits for Norwell in the win over the host Lady Warriors. Maiah Shelton scored 20 points, Kaylee Fuelling put up 17, Aubrey Dunnuck finished with 13 points, and Lauren Bales put up 11.

Casey Schroeder notched 20 points with two steals in the loss. Kennedy White and Ava Harker scored five points each, White also finishing with four steals. Schroeder scored another 17 points with six steals in the bounce back versus Brebeuf. White scored seven points with six steals and seven rebounds, and Madison Mottern also scored seven points in the win, which snapped a string of 11 straight losses by Wawasee.

The Warriors (3-12) play host to Northern Lakes Conference foe NorthWood Jan. 5.
