SYRACUSE — From the start, it was noted the middle school meeting held Monday evening, Feb. 27, in the lecture room of Wawasee Middle School was more about seeking input and suggestions to make Wawasee’s two middle schools even better. Rebecca Linnemeier, school board president, said “we are not here to close a middle school.”

SYRACUSE — One of the area’s largest craft bazaars is back for another year. The annual Wawasee Middle School PTO Craft Bazaar, benefitting the PTO, is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the school, 9850 SR 13, between Syracuse and North Webster.

SYRACUSE — Warrior Time at Wawasee Middle School, a 30-minute period for all students in the school just before their lunchtime, was essentially a study hall or a time for remediation.

SYRACUSE – Wednesday, Aug. 10, is the opening day for staff of the Wawasee Community School Corp. They met at Wawasee Middle School in the morning for breakfast, an introduction of new teachers, remarks by Dr. Tom Edington (Wawasee superintendent), a welcome from Angele Lortie, president of the Wawasee Community Educators Association and a presentation by Pat Coy of United Way.

SYRACUSE — Several Wawasee Middle School students are exploring the sky and using the school’s planetarium to show to others what they have learned.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Eighth-graders from Wawasee Middle School, Syracuse, who were visiting Washington, D.C. over the weekend had the chance to meet and honor several World War II veterans.
