Matthew Bochard and Sylvia Gargett officially exchanged the gavel Tuesday, July 7, for the Syracuse-Wawasee Rotary Club.

A community cruise through to honor the Wawasee High School senior class of 2020 has been scheduled from 6-6:30 p.m. Friday, June 5.

Anybody, including graduates, is encouraged to participate in the cruise through by decorating their vehicle. Attendees are asked to stay in their vehicles and practice social distancing.

SYRACUSE — James E. Caskey, president of the Kenneth and Lela Harkless Foundation, announced $85,500 in grants have been awarded to various organizations within the Syracuse community.

SYRACUSE — The Syracuse-Wawesee Rotary Club presents Fall Mardi Gras from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, on the SS Lillypad on Lake Wawasee. Rock Out For A Good Cause

NORTH WEBSTER — Syracuse-Wawasee Rotary Club’s Rocktober Fest is roaring into North Webster Saturday, Oct. 17, bringing with it popular band The Why Store. Stop by from 6 p.m. until closing at the American Legion Post 253, 756 S. SR 13, North Webster, for a rocking evening, good food and to show support for the North Webster and Syracuse food pantries.

Syracuse-Wawasee Rotary Club will be providing summer reading materials for 1,500 local students again this year. Since receiving a Dekko Foundation grant in 2007, Syracuse-Wawasee Rotary has donated books to North Webster, Syracuse and Milford elementary schools in an effort to keep the love of reading alive during summer break. The Syracuse-Wawasee Rotary Club members and Board recently donated $950 to the Beaman Home’s campaign to build a larger Emergency Shelter and Outreach Center on North Parker Street in Warsaw. Rotary Donates To Libraries

Syracuse-Wawasee Rotary Club, through the Rotary Foundation, donated a total of $600 to Milford, North Webster and Syracuse public libraries. All three libraries are anticipating using the funds toward summer reading programs, their biggest expenses, yet provide the biggest return through youth participation. Each library received $200.
