Cross country results for Saturday, Sept. 1
NORTH MANCHESTER — Wawasee volleyball claimed a win in game 3 but couldn’t come all the way back at Manchester Tuesday.
WARSAW — Warsaw’s cross country teams opened the season with runner-up finishes at their home invite Tuesday.
ROCHESTER — Wawasee and Manchester both competed at the Rochester Invitational Saturday, finishing fifth and fourth, respectively.
SYRACUSE — A short-handed Wawasee boys tennis team opened its season with a 5-0 loss to Manchester Monday.
NORTH MANCHESTER — Manchester topped Wawasee 183-198, but both head coaches saw good things out of their groups at Sycamore Golf Club Monday.

WARSAW — Warsaw got five solid scores, including four in the 70s, and the Tigers edged out Culver Military by a stroke to repeat as sectional champions at Rozella Ford Friday.
CULVER — Warsaw began its regional title defense with a 5-0 sweep of upset-minded Manchester, while Plymouth collecting a similar, 5-0 sweep of host CGA Tuesday to set the stage for a third straight regional championship showdown between the Tigers and the Pilgrims Wednesday.
ROCHESTER — Valley’s boys golf team rounded out the three-team standings in a meet with Manchester and Whitko Thursday at Round Barn.
PLYMOUTH — Dakota Parker repeated as sectional champ in the 400 meters, and fellow Tippy Valley senior Jameson Baker collected the discus championship on his way to regional berths in both throwing events as the host Pilgrims completed a team championship sweep at the Plymouth Boys Track and Field Sectional Thursday.
AKRON — Sophomore Tanner Trippiedi was singled out at Tippecanoe Valley as the lone Viking to make the lists as the Three Rivers Conference released its all-conference boys basketball rolls for the 2017-18 season.
AKRON — Nine Tippecanoe Valley athletes were named Academic All-Three Rivers Conference for the winter sports season, and another five made the TRC’s academic all-conference honorable mention list, it was announced Tuesday.

AKRON — Tippy Valley couldn’t match an offensive display by visiting Manchester, which included 29 shots on goal in a 13-0 Three Rivers Conference win over the host Vikings Tuesday.
ROCHESTER — Whitko’s Sickafoose and Manchester’s Bedke stand out, while Triton’s 4×100 and Tippy Valley’s Tucker advanced at Tuesday’s Rochester Girls Track and Field Sectional.
WABASH — The Three Rivers Conference held its annual awards banquet Wednesday in Wabash to honor student-athletes in three separate categories.
