The body of a 5-year-old child was recovered Tuesday night, July 14, after going missing while swimming. 

A tanned lifeguard lounging atop a tall seat overlooking a crowded beach has been a visionary staple of summer in America for decades, but that might soon be a part of history.

WARSAW — DNR will be at the Pike Lake dam at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, to remove boards in order to lower the water level about one foot for the winter. The City of Warsaw will provide a boom truck to assist with the heavy lifting.

WARSAW — The boards will be removed from the weir on Pike Lake at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 1. The lake level may lower as much as one foot in the following days. Residents are reminded it may become difficult to remove boats after this date.

Boat Ramp, Pier Now Open

  WARSAW — The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has completed the new handicap accessible pier and public boat ramp on Pike Lake. The ramp is now open to the public.
