WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Historical Society has published a new book titled “That’s Life, Stories of Kosciusko County.” This fun-filled, 226-page book is available now from the Old Jail Museum in Warsaw.
WARSAW — The Old Jail Museum is featuring an exhibit of quilts Sept. 17 through Oct. 17.
Tracing the family tree now has roots going deep in the U.S. Genealogy, depending on which source one looks at, is considered one of the top two or three hobbies nationwide.
The story of Annie Chaplin contains illicit romance, a cruel father, murder-suicide and, finally, a ghost. So it’s no surprise local historians and ghost hunters have taken an interest, including Greg Steffe of Spirits of Warsaw ghost tours, Evelyn Rake and her sister Marianne Prater of Warsaw Indiana Paranormal Research Studies and members of the Kosciusko County Historical Society, located in Warsaw’s Old Jail Museum, 121 N. Indiana St., where Chaplin was incarcerated and murdered.
Scan Day for the Kosciusko County Historical Society’s Genealogy Library project, “Our County in Pictures,” is set for 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, July 3, at the Old Jail Museum. We are looking for photos prior to 1966 of county places, people, and events.
With the Fourth of July fast approaching, holiday celebrations are being held throughout the county. On Friday, July 3, the Old Jail Museum will join in the celebrations during Warsaw’s First Friday.
