A semi struck a utility pole in Syracuse Friday evening knocking out power all along SR 13. According to reporter Rebekah Whirledge, who is on scene, NIPSCO crews are now repairing the problem. The semi struck a utility pole in front of Taco Bell. NIPSCO has not said how long the power will be out.

A small fire under a trailer in the Shamrock Mobile Home Park on the north shore of Pike Lake was quickly extinguished, but the problem had led to a gas leak. Warsaw Fire Department stood by while NIPSCO was called to the scene. The leak was repaired within minutes. No additional information is available.
