Donald Dean Wooten Sr.
Donald Dean Wooten Sr. died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, in Norman Park, Ga. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at Milford Cemetery.
Born Dec. 17, 1928, in Kimmell, he was the son of William Orvil Wooten and Sally Ann Bolling Wooten. He was the chief security officer with Brunswick Marina and was a WWII United States Army Veteran.
He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and a Life Member of DAV and VFW.
He was preceded by his first wife: Barbara Ellen Wooten; and an infant son: Donald Dean Wooten Jr.; and brothers: Bernard Eugene Wooten; and Robert Lee Wooten.
Survivors include his wife: Kathryn Emmett Crossen Wooten, Norman Park, Ga.; daughters: Karen (Ron) Wooten Butler, Indiana; Darlene (Steve) Wooten Treat, Indiana; Pamela (Melvin) Wooten Slabaugh, Fla.; Patricia (Danie) Wooten Sunkel, N.C.; half-sister: Lorraine (Jim) Abuckle, Indiana; and stepdaughters: Marie NeSmith; Helen McPhail; Nancy Manley; and Carolyn Hurm; stepson: Richard “Dick” Crosson; grandchildren: Todd Scelzo; Steven Treat, Donald D.J. (Carla) Slabaugh; Thomas Walker; Rhonda (Jeff) Scelzo Wanger; Amy (Justin) Treat Dickson; Kelly (Robert Jr.) Anderson Angle; Schannah (Mark) Slabaugh Powell; Barbara Walker; and 15 great-grandchildren.
