Warsaw SportsDUNLAP – Brendon Curry had a big night to lead Concord past Warsaw 9-4 in Northern Lakes Conference baseball action Monday night.

Curry had four hits, including a triple and two doubles, and drove in three runs for the host Minutemen. Curry also went the first five innings on the hill to earn the pitching win.

Concord led 2-0 before the Tigers scored twice in the fifth inning to tie the contest. The hosts scored two in the home half of the fifth to take a 4-2 lead before Warsaw scored once in the sixth to make it 4-3. The Minutemen put the game away with five runs in the sixth frame.

Zach Witt and Ethyn Bradley each had two hits and an RBI to lead Warsaw. Sterling Hay also had two hits for the Tigers.

Kevin Hawley took the pitching loss for Warsaw, which drops to 7-16 overall and 4-9 in the NLC.

Jake Vernon had two doubles and two RBI and Zack Stauffer two hits and three RBI for Concord.

Warsaw will play at Elkhart Memorial on Thursday night.

The Warsaw junior varsity team clubbed Concord 17-6. The trio of Brady Yates, Jordan Steffensmeier and Darrin Knisely each had three hits for the Tigers. Bryce Sensibaugh had two hits and Jordan Jones notched the pitching win for Warsaw.
