Triton Sports Wrap – May 4
The Triton girls tennis team blanked Bethany Christian 5-0 Monday.
Kaelyn Mason led the way with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles play for the Trojans.
The No. 2 doubles team of Hannah Wvnemacher and Emma Ross also won 6-0, 6-0 for Triton.
Shayla May notched a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles. Quinn Downing completed the singles sweep with a 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (7-3) win at No. 3.
The duo of Kylie Mason and Kolbie Mason won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles.
Triton is now 8-1 on the season. The Trojans play a conference match at Jimtown on Thursday.
Triton won the junior varsity action 4-1.
Cougars Blank Trojans
The New Prairie baseball team scored late to top host Triton 10-0 in Northern State Conference play.
The Cougars scored once in the fifth inning and nine times in the sixth for the win.
Winning pitcher Dylan Kegley fired a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts and five walks. He also had three RBI for the winners. Evan King also drove in three runs for New Prairie.
Cordale Keyser had two hits to lead Triton. Zac Pitney and Landon Kauffman each had one hit.
Skyler Reichert took the pitching loss for the Trojans, who left 11 runners on base.
Triton plays at Knox on Wednesday.
