Whitko SportsHanna Yohe turned in an outstanding pitching performance to pace her Whitko softball team to a win over Central Noble Friday evening.

Yohe fired a four-hitter as the host Wildcats blanked the Cougars 5-0.

Tori Silvers led the offense for the winners with two hits.

Also making key contributions for Whitko in the win were Haley  Yohe, Riley Insley, Emily Day, Maddie Gawthrop and Emily Jones.

Whitko will host Oak Hill on Monday night.

Baseball Team Outscores Lakeland

The Whitko baseball team got back into the win column by outscoring visiting Lakeland for a 12-10 win Friday.

Lakeland took a 6-0 lead with five runs in the first inning and one in the second frame. The host Wildcats came right back with five runs in the second inning and five more in the third to take the lead for good.

Alex Robbins notched the pitching win in a strong relief appearance.

Tanner Gaff went 3-4 at the plate with three RBI to lead the Whitko offense.

Zach Snep was 3-4 with a double and an RBI and Drew Bradford was 2-4 with an RBI for the Wildcats.

Whitko, now 5-6, will host Triton on Tuesday.

JV Baseball Team Continues Winning Ways

The Whitko junior varsity baseball team collected a 7-2 win at Heritage Friday.

River West was outstanding to get the pitching win with a complete game gem with 14 strikeouts for the Wildcats.

Reed Brace and Austin Hollowell each went 2-4 with an RBI to lead the offense. Bailey Platt also had two hits for Whitko.

Whitko, now 7-2, is scheduled to host Columbia City Saturday.
