Triton Sports Wrap – April 23
The Triton baseball team edged Glenn 3-2 in league play Thursday night.
The Trojans scored two runs in the first inning and added the game winner in the third frame in the Northern State Conference game played at Glenn.
Winning pitcher Dylan Hensley went all seven innings for Triton, firing a five-hitter with two strikeouts and three walks. He also helped his own cause at the plat with two hits, including a double, a run scored and an RBI.
Cordale Keyser had two hits and scored a run for Triton in the conference win.
Gabe McPherson and Landon Kauffman each had an RBI for the Trojans.
Gage Bennett led Glenn with two hits.
Triton plays at NSC foe Bremen on Friday night.
Softball Team Stops Squires
The Triton softball team rallied to edge host Manchester 5-4 Thursday.
Triton rallied from deficits of 3-0 and 4-1 to earn the non-conference win. The Trojans scored a pair of runs in their final at-bat in the seventh inning for the victory.
Kayla Kreft homered to lead the way for Triton.
Lexee Lemler had a double for the Trojans. Courtney Jennings pitched four innings and Brycelyn Garbison three for the winners.
Manchester lost despite a 15-3 edge in hits. The host Squires had nine errors in the contest.
Triton (4-3) hosts league foe Bremen Friday night. Manchester (3-3) plays at Columbia City on Saturday.
