Race Is On For Summer Plans
With the warmer weather, plans for spring and summer are taking the pole position at the North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce. President Sue Ward, Sue’s Creations, presided at the general membership meeting Monday at the North Webster American Legion Post 253 to assist the membership in getting on track.
It was noted the chamber’s special summer event, Dixie Day, will be held Saturday, July 25. Art fair applications are now online for artisans to register. The chamber’s website is www.northwebster.com and applications can be downloaded there. Also, summer banners have been ordered for the downtown street lights and will replace the winter banners reported Karilyn Metcalf, Dixie Sternwheeler Inc.
Ben Ashpole, Updenity, noted the chamber newsletter is looking for content since the first one has been sent. Those who wish to receive them but have not should contact him, [email protected] and use that address to send information. Currently advertising in the newsletter is free.
Ward repeated the need for a couple of ambassador volunteers to visit businesses and congratulated Dave’s Electric on being the March Business of the Month. She announced The River Coffeehouse will be open soon in the Pilcher Shoes building.
“Memberships are coming in at a good pace. Forms can also be downloaded from the chamber’s website,” said Ward. North Webster Community Guide advertising will soon be for sale by Susan Littlefield, The Papers Inc. The committee of Martha Stoelting, The Papers; Stacey Cox, Pletcher Insurance; Helen Leinbach, North Webster Community Public Library; and Metcalf will meet soon.
She thanked everyone for the successful chamber of commerce awards dinner last week with kudos to cochairmen Brenda Peterson, Lake City Bank, and David Colquitt, Eastlund Funeral Home.
The next general meeting will be held noon Monday, April 13, at the North Webster American Legion, 756 S. SR 13.
