CARPENTER LEADS TROJANS TO NSC TITLE
Quentyn Carpenter and the Triton boys golf team blitzed the conference competition Saturday to claim a championship.
Standout Carpenter fired a two-under round of 69 as the Trojans won the Northern State Conference Tournament contested at the Mystic Hills Golf Club.
Triton shot 314 as a team to finish 16 shots ahead of runner-up New Prairie (330). LaVille shot 331, Glenn 336, Culver 348, Bremen 362 and Jimtown 416.
Ryan Rapp shot an 80 for the champion Trojans. Tanner Shepherd carded an 82, Chandler Slone an 83 and Austin Kanarr a 93.
TROJANS OUTSCORE ARGOS ON DIAMOND
Pete Kauffman led the hit parade Saturday at Triton outscored host Argos 16-12 in eight innings in prep baseball action.
Kauffman collected four of his team’s 17 hits in the win. Triton plated four runs in the top of the eighth to win the slugfest.
Seth Glinge had three hits for the winners. Keita Morikawa had two hits and three RBI and Cordale Keyser two hits and two RBI for the Trojans.
