Expect some traffic difficulties in downtown Warsaw next week when Norfolk Southern Railroad crews begin infrastructure repairs on two crossings, completely closing both the Center and Main streets crossings simultaneously.
Warsaw Police Department was notified that both the Center Street and Main Street crossings will be closed Monday morning and should be closed for 3 or 4 days, weather dependent.
As soon as the Center Street and Main Street railroad crossings are repaired, Norfolk Southern Railroad will be moving to the Market Street crossing for the same infrastructure repairs. The Market Street crossing will then be closed for 1 to 2 days dependent on weather conditions.
The road surface along the railroad tracks will be fully removed from curb to curb, so during the time of the work, there will be no on-street parking along all of Hickory Street.
The approved detour will direct traffic to Winona Avenue. The city asks that motorists avoid the closed streets and follow the marked detours.
