Today, the fifth graders at Triton Elementary School celebrated the culmination of 10 weeks of D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) lessons with a graduation ceremony in the Triton Auditorium.

Officer Haskins of the Bourbon Police Department led the ceremonies. Bourbon Police Chief Martin also attended the ceremony in support of the students. Triton Elementary Principal Jeremy Riffle shared some remarks about showing “P.R.I.D.E.” with the students.

One essay winner from each classroom read their winning essays to their classmates.

The winners are: Maddie Ritchison (Mrs. Brosman’s class); Jacob Neff (Ms. Hanby’s class); and Matisyn Davis (Ms. Hostrawser’s class). The overall school winner, Maddie Ritchison, will represent Triton at the county D.A.R.E. Banquet later this spring.
