Guilford E. Pennington, 85, North Manchester, Ind., passed away at 11:15 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at his residence.

He was born at Commodore, Pa., on March 24, 1928, to Kenneth Rexford and Ruth Olive (Boucher) Pennington. For many years he was a salesman for Lucky Shoes in Fairlawn, Ohio.

Surviving are his wife: Patricia (Crawford) Pennington, Sharon, S.C.; three sons: Gary (Jackie) Pennington, Blacksburg, S.C.; Rex (Rhonda) Pennington, Hartville, Ohio; Michael (Beth) Pennington, Suffield, Ohio; three daughters: Cheryl Working, North Manchester, Ind.; Cathi (Butch) Johnson, Clover, S.C.; Susan (Steve) Patuc, Suffield, Ohio; three sisters: Dovie (Richard) Carr, Akron, Ohio; Yvonne Jarvis, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Kay (Ed) Key, Greenville, S.C.; and 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, in Cox Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave., Barberton, Ohio. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Pastor Ladona Webb will officiate and burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron, Ohio.

Arrangements are entrusted to McKee Mortuary, 1401 SR 114 West, North Manchester.
