SYRACUSE – In a game featuring 25 runs and 28 hits, it was just a single tally in the seventh that separated Wawasee and Columbia City Tuesday.

The Eagles plated a solo run in the seventh inning that the Warriors could not match in a 13-12 win by the visitors.

Gage Reinhard led the attack for Wawasee with four hits and also drove in two runs. Drew Anderson also have a big day at the plate, hammering a double and triple and driving in four runs. Wawasee, which scored a grand total of seven runs in four games last week, have scored 31 in its last three games heading into the Class 3-A West Noble Baseball Sectional tonight.

Wawasee (4-20) will meet Fairfield (17-3) in the first game, first pitch set for 5 p.m. The Falcons, which beat Wawasee 10-2 last Tuesday in Syracuse, won the North East Corner Conference title and are ranked No. 10 in the state in Class 3-A. Other games at the West Noble Sectional include Tippecanoe Valley against West Noble Thursday which sets up Monday’s first game between the winners of Wednesday and Thursday. Lakeland and NorthWood play in Monday’s second game, building to the championship game Monday afternoon.
