WARSAW – Forty-two small, delicately painted stones have been placed around the Kosciusko County Courthouse and Justice Building in Warsaw with what appears to be a salute to veterans for the 4th of July.

Exactly who placed the rocks, though, remains a mystery.

Painted rocks have been placed all around the courthouse and along two sides of the justice building. A large majority have also been placed on the veterans’ memorial at the corner of Center and Lake Streets. The painted rocks appeared Wednesday, June 3, and it is unknown who might be behind the decorations.

County administrator Marsha McSherry said she did not know who was involved.

Some of the stones are set on trash cans, ledges, steps, and other various places.
