MILFORD — A favorite food during the annual Milford Fest has always been the rib-eye steak sandwiches served by the Milford Fire Department.

Even though Milford Fest was cancelled, the event favorite is still a possibility.

Milford Firefighters started around 10 a.m. this morning, Sunday, May 24, getting the grills fired up and the rib-eye steaks seasoned in front of the fire station. The popular steak sandwiches were being cooked to the juicy tenderness, ready to serve by noon.

Several residents stopped by early to get in line for the drive-thru service.

The fire department has 500 rib-eye sandwiches and chips that will be available to purchase. The cost is a freewill donation, the department’s way of giving back to the community.

Make sure to make a trip to Milford Fire Station to purchase your rib-eye steak sandwich. If you miss out, you’ll have to wait until next year’s Milford Fest to get another chance.
