WARSAW – MutualBank is transitioning to a new name after a merger that was announced in 2019.

The transition to Northwest Bank will be completed when banks open Monday, April 27.

The sign outside of MutualBank on Market Street was changed Friday, April 24.

MutualBank has been based in Muncie and in operation since 1889.

Northwest Bank is headquartered in Warren, Pa.

The acquisition provides Northwest with an additional $2.1 billion in total assets, $1.6 billion in total deposits, $1.5 billion in loans and 39 banking locations, according to a news release issued last year.

MutualBank has three offices in Warsaw and one each in Syracuse and North Webster.
